Jay Cox
Jay Cox, 78, of O'Fallon, MO, formerly of Cahokia, born Friday, November 18, 1932, in East Saint Louis, IL, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Cox worked as a policeman for East St. Louis and was an agent for State Farm Insurance. He was a U.S. Marine Korean War Veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus and the Marine Corp League.
He was preceded in death by his:

- Brother: Alva "Sonny" Cox
- Sister: Mary Louise Halvachs

- Wife: Karlyn nee Chapman Cox
- Daughter: Carla (Jim) Eilers of O'Fallon, IL
- Son: Dr. Michael (Mona) Cox of Wildwood, MO
- Sister-in-law: Sandy (Kevin) Grimes of Maryville, IL
- Brother-in-law: Rich Soulney of Collinsville, IL

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society
Visitation: Friends may call from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.
Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:45am on Monday, November 7, 2011 for a 10:00am, Mass of Christian burial at St. Henry's Catholic Church, with Father Clyde Grogan officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
