Mary E. McCluskey

Mary E. McCluskey, nee Little, 85, of Swansea, IL, born Monday, September 14, 1925, in Carterville, IL died Monday, January 31, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mrs. McCluskey was a retired teacher for Harmony and Emge Ellis District 175. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Swansea, IL.

 

She was preceded in death by her:

• 3 Brothers

Surviving are her:

• Daughter: Maggie N. Riddle of Swansea, IL
• Sister: JoAnn McCluskey of Phoenix, AZ
• 3 Grandchildren

  • Kyle Riddle
• Great Granddaughter: Bennett Meadows

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Harmony School District 175 Education Foundation. 

Visitation: Friends may call from 3-6 P.M., Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, February 4, 2011 at Kurrus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Robinson officiating. There will be a private family interment.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. "Mrs. McCluskey," was my teacher before I knew her as the mother of a great high school friend. I will always remember her dry sense of humor and her insistence on excellence. A lot of what I am as a teacher today was modeled by Mrs. McCluskey. Please know that I am praying for you all.
