Dr. James W. Conaway

Dr. James W. Conaway, 84, of Shiloh, IL, born December 13, 1926, in Uniontown, PA, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Cedar Ridge Healthcare in Lebanon, IL.

Dr. Conaway was a retired psychologist for Alton School District and consultant for Belleville Special Ed. Department. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Washington University, a Masters of Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesorta and a Doctorate of Philosophy with a major in Education from St. Louis University.  He was a 50 year member of First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL. He served as an Elder, Deacon, Stephens Minister and a charter member of Stephens Ministry Program at the church. He also participated in Men's Bible Study and served on many mission trips. He was a U.S. Air Force World War II and Korean War veteran.

He was preceded in death by his:

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Cedar Ridge Health and Rehab Center, to Heartland Home Care and Hospice and to Rev. Mike Garrison for their kind and gracious care.

Visitation: Friends may call from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. & from 10:30 am - 11:30 am Thursday, May 26, 2011 at First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, May 26, 2011 at First United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Alex Henderickson officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
