Condolences left for Edwin A. McLean Sr.:

To Ed's Family: Ed's life reflected his humanitarianism in a myriad of ways, not the least of which (and the one with which I am most familiar) having been thru his dedication to the aims and objectives of the Rotary movement, specifically as a prime mover in the St.Clair County (West) Rotary Club and its predecessor, the East St. Louis Rotary Club. A great guy, a true gentleman, and the quintessential Rotarian. My sincerest sympathy. DonRice,PDG

My association with Ed was through the Scouting program and our joint membership on the Executive Board of Okaw Valley Council (now Lewis & Clark Council) in the BSA. Ed was a living example of one who lives and acts according to the teachings present in the Scout Oath and Law. By his example, he was a true inspiration to his peers and thousands of youth throughout Southern Illinois. Prayers and sincere condolences to the family. Ed's positive example for us all will certainly be missed.

    Mary Jane,

Ed and I were very good friends in Scouting for many years. I thought a great deal of Ed. He took a very intelligent, yet friendly and practical, approach to solving problems and he was truly a great asset to the Council Board. We also both had the privilege of serving as President of the Okaw Valley Council.

Ed was always a very humble and friendly person, yet he had a very bright mind and was always willing to help the Council or his friends. We will truly miss Ed and his very supportive and cheerful ways. We were fortunate to have him for the many years we enjoyed his friendship. Please accept my sympathy and let me know if there is any way I can be of help.

    Sincerely,
    Don Welge
