Bessie Reynolds


Bessie  Reynolds, nee Sarkisian, 86, of Belleville, Illinois, born Tuesday, December 8, 1925, in East St. Louis, IL, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.

Bessie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Belleville Illinois, Blessed Sacrament St. Ann Womens Group, Clinton Hills Golf League, St Clair County Democratic Club, and served as an Election Judge.

She was preceded in death by her:

  • Mother: Narig nee Norsigian Sarkisian
  • Grandson: Brandon George
  • Brother: Albert Sarkisian
  • Sister: Alice Clark

Special Thanks: Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Yanganti for the many years of care and compassion given to Bessie, to the staff on 3 South at Memorial Hospital and to Patrick, Bessies nurse from Hospice of Southern Illinois. Our lives will be forever touched by the kindness and thoughtfulness shown not only to Bessie but to our family during this difficult time.

Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul’s sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul’s at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.


Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, April 2, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Father Matthew Elie officiating  Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
