John L. Thompson

   
John L. Thompson, 88, of Belleville, IL, born Monday, December 26, 1921, in Elco, IL, died Friday, August 20, 2010 in Grange Nursing Home in Mascoutah.

Mr. Thompson worked in the Elect. Maintenance Department for Memorial Hospital. He also worked for Century Electric in St. Louis for 21 years. He was a member of State Street Assembly of God in E. St. Louis. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his:

  • Joyce Clark of Shiloh, IL
  • Dorcas (Vince) Bonino of Swansea, IL
• Brother: Robert (Louise) Thompson of Dongola, IL.
• 6 Grandchildren
• 12 Great Grandchildren

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Family Hospice of Belleville Area.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4-8 pm, Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 23, 2010 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Pastor Doris Ely officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
