Lt. Col. Steven T. Drewry

Team Scott pauses to reflect upon the passing of:

Lt. Col. Steven T. Drewry, 44, of O'Fallon, Ill., who passed away Dec. 3 losing his courageous 3 year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.  Drewry was a member of Air Mobility Command Headquarters Inspector General Office.  Drewry was born, Dec. 15, 1966 in Memphis where he attended Bishop Byrne High School and received his Bachelor's of Science from the University of Memphis and later a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from Webster University. 

During his career, he served as pilot, instructor, inspector, executive officer and commander.  He also served in Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom along with Joint Guard, Joint Endeavor and Southern Watch.  His decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Air Medal, Aerial Achievement Metal with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster and Air Force Achievement Medal.

He is survived by his:

  • Loving wife of 13 years: Kimberly Ann Drewry (nee Rowsell)
  • Son: Adam
  • Daughter: Kristin
  • Parents: Ron and Nancy Drewry
  • Sister: Cindy Drewry German of Collierville, Tenn
  • Brother: David and his wife Tina of Las Vegas, Nev
  • Parents-in-law: Keith and Josephine Rowsell of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, Canada
  • Six nieces and nephews
  • Most faithful friend: Buddy

Memorials: The family request any memorial donations be made to the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation. 

Services: A memorial for Lt.Col. Drewry is planned for 9:30 AM, January 3, 2012 at Chapel One on Scott AFB, IL.
