Kenneth D. Uhls

 

Kenneth D. Uhls, 86, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, born Wednesday, September 9, 1925, in Franklin County, IL, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Eden Village in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Kenneth worked in the shipping department for Sears and Roebuck and also a hostess at Captain D's. He was a member of First Christian Church in Belleville Illinois and was a Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his:

  • Parents: Crim and Viola nee Lambert Uhls
  • Brothers
    • Billy Lee Uhls
    • Maynard Uhls
  • Sister: Mildred Cook


Surviving are his:

  • Sister: Elizabeth "Betty" Weishaar of Emmetsburg, IA
  • Many Nieces & Nephews


Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Unity Hospice

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, March 2, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois and from 10:00 am - 10:30 am Saturday, March 3, 2012 at First Christian Church in Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, March 3, 2012 at First Christian Church, with Doug Hargrave officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Valier, Illinois.

    I had the privledge of working with Ken from 2000-2004 at Captain D's Belleville He was just a good guy that never missed church was nice to everyone he met and told great stories we had a special name for him called K-Dog because he was just so cool Rest In Peace Ken Your work is done and heavan has gained a great friend today.
