Neil F. Harris, 63, of Elkhorn, WI, formerly of Godfrey, IL, born Wednesday, January 15, 1947, in East Saint Louis, Illinois, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 in Royal Lakewood Medical Center in Elkhorn WI.

Mr. Harris worked as a Claims Adjuster for Atlantic Mutual Companies.He was a member of Franklin Lodge #25 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shrine and Hospital Unit.

 
He was preceded in death by:

  • Wife: Martha K., nee Schnyder
  • Parents: Herbert S. and Evelyn M. nee Hurley, Harris
  • Sister: Linda Harper

Surviving are his:

  • Daughter: Jill (Dave) Aufmuth of Lake Geneva, WI
  • Brother: Gary (Linda) Harris of Fairview Heights, IL
  • Sister: Betty (Otis) Rauch of Sparta, IL

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8pm on Sunday September 12, 2010 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Masonic service will be held on Sunday (Time Pending)

Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Lake View Memorial Gardens. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

    Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Neil. I went to East Side with Neil and always thought he was a really nice guy. At the last class function in September and then October 9, several people asked me if that was "our Neil Harris" and I had to tell them sadly that it was. Maureen Onstott and I are so very sorry we missed the announcement and the funeral. He was well thought of by many and will be remembered by our class at our reunions on our "Memorial" Poster. May God bless and keep your family in His love during this difficult time and always.
