Mary Evelyn Burress, nee Schmelter, 73, of Caseyville, IL, born Saturday, January 16, 1937, in E. St. Louis, IL, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 in Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Burress retired from K-Mart and also worked as a Pharmacy Tech for Home Pharmaceutical in Belleville, IL.

She was preceded in death by:

• Parents: Louis A. and Agnes H. nee Rehg Schmelter
• Brothers: Arvel and Robert Schmelter
• Sister: Rita Cronovich

She is survived by:

Visitation: Friends may call from 11:00am to 1:00pm Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Kurrus Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Patton officiating. By her request cremation was held, her cremated remains will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL following the services.
