Dorothy Belle Sheets nee Robinson, 88, of Freeburg, IL, born Wednesday, August 24, 1921, in Decatur, GA, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.
Dorothy was a very loyal and dedicated mother and grandmother who raised her two children by herself after losing her husband and father to her children at a very young age. She worked many jobs and very long hours to provide the best life for her son and daughter. Most people will remember her from managing the Davis Cup Restaurant in Freeburg, which her son owned and operated from 1980 to 1987. Dorothy was famous for her wonderful homemade cooking and especially for her homemade soup and chili. Dorothy loved and adopted many of the poeple who were first customers, then became in her heart members of her family. She will be missed by many and cherished in their hearts and memories for many years to come. She never met a stranger who did not soon become a friend. She always opened her heart and home to many who needed love and care.
She lived for her children and grandchildren who will miss her forever but are better because they had her for their very own.
