William Scott "Bill" Irwin, 78, of Belleville, Illinois, born Friday,
June 6, 1930, in Tilden, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008
in Four Fountains Convalescent Center, Belleville, IL.
Mr. Irwin served with the U.S. Air Force in Korea during the Conflict.
He was an Air Force employee in Aircraft Maintenance for 11 years at
Scott Air Force Base . IL. He retired in 1985 from the U. S. Army
Aviation Systems Command, St. Louis, MO where he had been employed as an
Aircraft Equipment Specialist.
He was a life member of the American Legion 1255 and the Scott V.F.W.
Post 4183. He also was a member of the AMVETS post 161, the Korean War
Vets Assn. St. Clair Lodge 24 A.F.&A.M, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad
Shrine (Color Guard/Patrol), Southern Illinois Court #86 R.O.J., the
Elks Lodge #664 Fairview Hgts and Eagles Lodge Aeries 2522

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Shriners Hospital for
Children.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday, August 11, 2008 at
Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. There will be a Shriners
Patrol walk-thru at 7:05 pm and followed by a Jesters walk-thru at 7:13
pm.
Funeral: Private graveside services will be held at Pinckneyville City
Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
