Robert L. Lytle, 68, of Belleville, Illinois, born Thursday, April 5, 1951, in Salem, IL, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at his residence in Belleville, Illinois.
Bob was a life long craftsman. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. Bob was an avid football fan and also enjoyed watching auto racing.
He was preceded in death by his:
- Parents: Melvin and Helen, nee Kraft, Lytle
Surviving are his:
- 2 daughters, Kelley and Robin
- Brother: Richard
- 2 sisters: Susan and Mary Kay
- 2 grandchildren: Phillip and Rosemary
- Dear nieces and nephews
By his request cremation was held.

Goodbye my sweet brother. You were supposed to be at my house for dinner on memorial day. Wish I could have had that last time to see you! At least u passed peacefully and are with our parents now. Love u miss u. Rip!

I married Bob on 4/15/1994. I loved him until the day he passed away. I will always keep him in my heart and I am sure he knows it. He saved my life on 10/31/2000 and I will always be forever grateful. He was a misunderstood man but I “got” him. I am satisfied that he is in a much better place and looking down on us probably laughing. I love you Bob; I always will. Continue on your journey……

Thanks Kathy for your nice comment. I will remember my brother as the brother I grew up with. We helped each other through the difficult move to Edwardsville. We did most everything together. I also remember how happy you two were for many years and some fun times when we all got together. I will always see him as a smart loving guy and there is no replacing him. I know he will be happy to be going to Arizona finally. I love you Bob.

It isn’t supposed to work this way. The oldest sibling is supposed to go first. I want to thank you also, Kathy. I know you got him. I loved him more than life itself although I am not one to say those things except privately. While you will always be missed, you are now free. There is no more pain, no more fear, no more worry. There are so many people there to meet you in heaven. Mom and dad will be so happy to meet you as will be our baby brother Kenny. You can say hello to my husband and my son as well. Your life will be different but wonderful. You’ll finally make that trip to Arizona. You were more worthy than you ever knew.
