Carole Ann Pressnall, nee McCroskey, 79, of East Saint Louis, Illinois, born October 21, 1939, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at her residence.
Carole was a teacher at St. Phillips in East Saint Louis before her August 1961 marriage to James H. Pressnall, whom she referred to as “the love of her life”. She went on to have 5 children and eventually took a job as a front desk clerk at the Shrine Hotel in 1990-2018. Carole always said, “if you find a job you love doing, it will never feel like a job.” Her other love was race horses and she would share her stories of outings she had to Fairmont as a young girl to whoever would listen. Carole was a lady of grace and beauty and felt blessed in life like no other.
She was preceded in death by her:
- Husband of 48 years, James Holland Pressnall
- Her eldest son, Kyle G. Pressnall
- Parents, Helen nee Cich, McCroskey and Walter McCroskey
She is survived by her:

- Jessica Tippett
- Olivia Lautz
- Great-Grandson, Kash Douglas Pressnall
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy, Belleville, IL or BJC Hospice, St. Louis, MO.
Visitation: Visitation from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, on Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Caseyville, Illinois.
Funeral: A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the church with Father Clyde Grogan officiating Private family interment will be held at a later date.
