Dr. Robert D. Fricke

June 1, 1941 - May 20, 2018

Service Date: June 9, 2018

Dr. Fricke was my doctor for many years with my stomach problems. He was the kindest and most caring doctor I have ever met. He will be missed by his many patients and friends he made over the years. My prayers and thoughts are with the family. Frank Cange

Bob was a cousin of mine. I can remember going to the farm where he grew up with his sister Dottie Jo and brother Rayburn and his parents. We always had fun playing with them, and I remember Bob's great sense of humor.

Bob was a friend when I was in the nursing program at University of Illinois. My favorite Fricke story is when Walter Long, Bob, and I went fishing at Stoughton, Wisconsin. We rented a row boat and went out on the lake. We caught 62 striped bass that morning, most weighing 1/2 to 1 pound. We were the envy of everyone on the lake. I have told this story many times since my husband is a fishing jinx and we don't catch much when fishing with him. I am truly sorry I didn't keep in better touch with him. I grew up in Sparta. We both graduated in 69.

Bob was one my friends and lab partners at SIU. Although I have not seen Bob for 50 years I can easily remember his drive for excellence and his sense of humor. It was an honor to be his college friend
