Marilyn Sue Seavers

August 19, 1939 - April 2, 2018

Service Date: April 6, 2018

Marilyn Sue Seavers (nee Kirkland) 78, of Edwardsville, IL. born August 19, 1939 in St. Louis, MO.  went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Marilyn was a faithful member of Towerview Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday School class.  Marilyn spent her life in service to others.  Early on in her career, she was an Administrative Assistant at Grant Middle School in Fairview Heights, IL., the financial Secretary for Towerview Baptist Church (formerly Rosemont Baptist Church) for 45 years.  Later she was employed and retired from Bank of America in St. Louis, MO.  After retirement she couldn’t sit still so she became the Secretary for Sterling Baptist Church and worked until her health forced her to retire again.

She truly loved her children and grandchildren, bragging to anyone who would listen about their accomplishments.  She especially enjoyed her daughter and son-in-law’s singing events, her son’s years of playing baseball, and motocross biking events and eventually her grandchildren’s ball games.  Since her illness, she wasn’t able to attend the ball games, so her wonderful grandson brought the team to her backyard where she was able to see them play one more time.  She was also a loving aunt and great aunt who attended events for them as well.

Her hobbies included bowling, sewing, gardening and painting.  She was very giving and would use her talents for all her family.
