Gaither B. Jones, 94 of Belleville, Illinois, born Tuesday, August 14, 1923, in East St. Louis, IL, died Wednesday, November  8, 2017 at Illinois Veterans Home, Anna IL in Anna, Illinois.

He was formerly administrator at Centerville Township Hospital for over 30 years.  He was a graduate of E. St. Louis Senior High School, Washington University, St. Louis, MO and St. Louis University where her received a master degree in Hospital Administration. He was a U.S. World War II Army Veteran.

Gaither was a loving father, dedicated vegetable gardener, talented artist of oil paintings, (of which children are fiercely protective), and a voracious reader.

He was preceded in death by his:

He is survived by his:

  • Wife of 66 years: Margie Lou , nee Purcell, Jones who lives in Belleville, IL
  • Margie and Gaither have 3 sons

    • David Robert (Sue) Jones, JD of Edwardsville, IL

Visitation:  Friends may call from 10:00 am – 11:00 am Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Mount Carmel Cemetery (Peace Chapel), Belleville, IL

Funeral:  Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Mount Carmel Cemetery (Peace Chapel), with  Father Roger Karban officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
