Hazel E. Wegener-Dodge, nee Hettenhausen, 94, of Belleville, Illinois, born Friday, December 29, 1922, in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Morningside of Shiloh in Shiloh, Illinois with her family by her side.

Hazel worked as a Patient Accounts Agent at Memorial Hospital and a Purchase Agent for Scott Field during World War II. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, American Business Womens Club, Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid Mission Society, Zion Lutheran Couples Club, Volunteer for the Nice Twice Shop for 18 years, Senior Bell Choir at church.


She was preceded in death by her:

  • Husband, Robert Dodge
  • First Husband, Walter Wegener
  • Parents, Irving and Marie nee Herzig, Hettenhausen
  • 2 Brothers and 1 Sister who died in infancy

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, May 26, 2017 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois and from 10:00 am – 11:00 am Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Darwin Schrader and Rev. Christopher Dodge officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
