Service Date: May 25, 2017
Jean Walsh, nee Sage, 90, of Belleville, Illinois, born Tuesday, December 21, 1926, in East St. Louis, IL, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at her residence.
Jean was gifted with a beautiful face and a brilliant mind. She was an avid bridge player, socially and competitively. To the end of her life she mastered crossword puzzles. Jean loved dogs–all dogs. She carried biscuits in her car to give to strays, and once parted with the hamburger planned for dinner. She always had a houseful of pets, ranging from purebred Labs to the scruffiest, ugliest mutts that no one else wanted.
Jean was most admired by her family for her unfailing sense of humor.
Her exuberant infectious laugh would erupt in any situation, often at herself, especially when laughter was needed in the hard times. She is deeply missed.
