Condolences left for Shon Parsons:

    Come With Me
God saw that you were suffering
and a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
    and whispered, "Come with me".
    Through tear filled eyes
    we watched you suffer
    and slowly fade away.
    Although we loved you deeply,
we could not make you stay.
    A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands were put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
    He only takes the best.

I was upset once when a young friend of mine died after fighting cancer, we had prayed for healing and it did not happen.
My father told me then, when we pray for healing God may answer with a miracle of good health or He may give the ultimate healing, that of bringing them home to heaven, to suffer no more.
Shon fought long and hard to stay here with his family and we do not understand why he had to leave but I believe God gave him the ultimate healing and he is at peace now in heaven.
My prayers are with you all.

Michelle and Family: I am so sorry for your loss. Shon was a great youth leader, and friend. I will never forget some things he told us. "Not to decide is too decide" He always said if you can't tell your mom or someone close to you, you probably shouldn't be doing it. I will forever hold those memories, with many others close. May God be with you and your family through these difficult times. Thinking of you all

Greg and I were classmates of Shon while he attended school in Essex. We both have fond memories of "playing" games with him and "hanging" out as we got older. His family lived across the alley from my grandmother so his back yard was a frequent handout while I was at her home. Greg has many memories also of Shon being a great friend and fun being with. We are truly sorry for your loss. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Shon and his family were great family friends of ours growing up in Essex. Shon and my brother Andy were very close, and Shon's mom Jennifer was a tremendous friend to my mom. I want the family to know we are thinking of you and feel your loss. I am sure that Shon was greeted in heaven by my mom with a big hug. I know how much you miss him and always will, but know that he fought a courageous battle, left an outstanding legacy with how he lived his life, and has finally won rest and comfort with the lord.

Michelle and Family: Whether it was throwing himself into the bottom of our canoe to keep from tipping, sneaking the radio into the loft while on retreat in Parkville so we wouldn't miss the KU/K-State basketball game, or traipsing after him at KU for my college visit, everything he did showed how much he loved those around him. Which in turn, just made us love him more. I love you guys and my thoughts and prayers are with you always.

My family and I are truly sorry for the loss of such a great man. Shon was one of my best friend in elementary school and junior high. I spent countless hours with him and his family, and have many fond memories. When my mother passed away I was shocked to see him in Shenandoah, but that is the kind of person he was. A great friend, son, husband, and father was lost, but his spirit will always touch those who knew Shon.
