Carlene Kay Meyer

Carlene Kay Meyer, nee Ford, 67, of Belleville, Illinois, born Thursday, March 16, 1944, in Mount Vernon, IL, died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, Illinois.

Carlene was a retired cashier for Walmart and formerly worked for Belleville Shoe Manufacturing and a nursing assistant at St. Elizabeth Hospital and The Lincoln Home. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church Swansea Illinois, Ladies of the Moose Lodge #53, Belleville Automotive Club, Ladies Auxiliary of Elks  Lodge #664, Associate with Southside Improvement Association and active at the Belleville Labor and Industrial Museum.  

She was preceded in death by her:

  • Parent: Francis S. and Katie nee Miller Ford
  • Brother: Eugene Ford

Surviving are her:

  • Husband: Gary L. Meyer Sr.
  • Son: Gary (Cynthia) Meyer II of Belleville, IL
  • Brother: Dennis (Judith) Ford of Kansas City, MO 
  • Sister: Marilyn Cross of McLeanboro, IL

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, March 12, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois and there will be a Ladies of the Moose services at 7:00pm.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Greg Sutter and Rev. Vance Vyers officiating.  Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery, Addieville, Illinois.
