Mrs. Kernan will always be remembered in my heart as one of my first Hawthorne mom's. She took my sister and I in as one of her own and I will always be thankful to her for never letting us know we were different as being of another race when we played at the house with her children. Love the daughter of Mary E. Sims of Hawthorne Grade School.
