John B. La Busier

John B. La Busier, 84, of Ashley, Illinois, formerly of Swansea, Illinois, born Wednesday, April 6, 1927, in East St. Louis, IL, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville, IL .

John worked as a Photographer for U. S. Government Defense Mapping Agency. He was a member of Edgemont Bible Church Fairview Heights Illinois, he was a  Ham Radio operator since 1959, former President of Little Egypt Chapter of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, Former President of French Village Fire Department, former owner of Photo Enterprises in Swansea and a freelance photographer for the E. St. Louis Journal, St. Louis Post Dispatch and St. Louis Globe Democrat.  He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his:

  • Brothers-in Law and Sisters-in-Law:
    • Russell and June Miller                                
    • Clarence and Betty Miller                                                       
    • Edward and Laura Dell Miller

Surviving are his:

  • Wife: Shirley A. nee Miller La Busier of Ashley, IL
  • Children:
    • John B. (Tina) La Busier Jr. of Nashville, IL              
    • Suzanne (David) Slovak of Okawville, IL
  • Granddaughter: Sara La Busier of Nashville, IL
  • Sister-in-Law: Carolyn (Fred) Jones of Cahokia, IL

Memorials:  Memorials may be made to the Edgemont Bible Church

Visitation:  Friends may call from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug White officiating.  Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
