Dolores J. "Dee" Bates, nee Cox, 82, of Belleville, IL, born Tuesday, May 29, 1928, in East St. Louis, IL died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Canterbury Manor in Waterloo, IL.

Mrs. Bates retired as a management assistant for Scott Air Force Base. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, East St. Louis, IL, a member of Rob Morris Chapter #98 OES in Belleville, IL, Mount Olive Shrine WSJ in St. Louis, MO, and Al Sihah Temple #29 Daughters of the Nile in East St. Louis, IL.

She was preceded in death by her:

  • Beloved Husband: Michael R. Bates
  • Parents: Henry & Matilda nee Seidel Cox
  • Brother, Arthur Cox

Surviving are her:

  • Sister: Dorothy Krack of Columbia, IL
  • Sister-in-law: Nola Cox of Sacramento, CA
  • Cousin: Bertha Cox of Caseyville, IL
  • Many good friends & neighbors

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Sunshine Mission, St. Louis, MO.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4-8 P.M., Monday, March 21, 2011 at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. There will be an OES service at 7:30 P.M.

Burial: Private burial on Tuesday, March 22, 2011
