Doraine Colliflower

Doraine Colliflower, 91, of Belleville, Illinois, born November 6, 1920, passed away peacefully on friday March 16, 2012

"Rainey" was a kind, caring, very giving woman and will be missed by all.  She was a day-care teacher at Westview Baptist Daycare until she was 76, when a fall and broken hip prevented her from working any longer.  To this day, Doraine's students remember her fondly as a loving teacher.  She was also a very religious, devout Baptist and was a charter member of the Villa Hills Baptist Church, as well as the First Baptist Church of Smithon.

Doraine was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Colliflower, her son Eugene Colliflower, parents, Fred and Mathilda Lauerman, sisters Lucille Stufflebeam, Erna Gravot, Dorothy Huffman, Doris Tarrant, and their spouses; and her brothers, Wilford Lauerman and spouse, Walter Lauerman. She was also preceded in death by all of her colliflower in-laws.

Surviving are her son, Fred Colliflower his wife Maggie, nee Norsigian, and her grandson Jacob Hrant Colliflower of Belleville, Illinois.Surviving are her sisters Mildred Phillips, Ruth Nance and sister-in-law, Delores Lauerman. She is also survived by many, many beloved nieces and nephews and their families as well as her son Eugene's partner, Myron Jackson.

Visitation:  Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Friday, March 23, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral:  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Robinson officiating.  Burial at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
