David Lee Linnertz,
75, of Belleville, Illinois, formerly of St. Louis, MO, born Saturday, November 2, 1935, in East Saint Louis, IL, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, IL.


Mr. Linnertz worked as a broker for Edwards Jones in St. Louis for over 30 years. He was a United States Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by:

  • Parents: Harry and Lucille V. nee Reinecker Linnertz
  • Brother-in-law: Ken Weinland
  • Dear Friend: Melvin Stewart


Surviving is his:

  • Sister: Marlene Weinland of Belleville, IL

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois

Services: By his request cremation was held.

    So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I sure will miss him. Our talks on the phone were brief, but meant so much to me. He was so much a part of Mel's life and ours. I could call him and it was as if I was speaking to Mel. I will miss him greatly.

    Our family enjoyed our trips to St. Louis to the zoo and to visit with Uncle Mel and Uncle Dave very much. Our son Brock has a toy elephant that he calls "Uncle Dave". We will miss him very much.
