Owen Jerome Eisele, MD

Owen Jerome Eisele, MD, 98, of Belleville, Illinois, born Friday, October 9, 1914, in East Saint Louis, IL, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at  Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, IL.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville IL.  U.S. Army Veteran World War II 8th Armored Division; European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with three Bronze Stars; Combat Medical Badge.  

Dr. Eisele practiced anesthesiology at St. Mary's and Christian Welfare Hospitals in East St. Louis, and Centerville Township Hospital. Graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine 1938. Member of AMA, IL State Medical Society, American Society of Anesthesiology, IL State Society of Anesthesiology. Past President of St. Mary's Medical Staff 1952. Past President of St. Clair County Medical Society 1954, retired from anesthesia practice July 1976, Coordinator of St. Clair County Regional Health Education Center 1976-1982, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree.

Memorials:  Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois or Catholic Urban Program

Visitation:  Friends may call from  4:00-6:00pm, with a rosary will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL and from 10:00am to 11:15am Monday, November 26, 2012 at Our Lady of the Snow Apartment Community Chapel, Belleville, IL

Funeral:  Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:15am Monday, November 26, 2012  at Our Lady of the Snow Apartment Community Chapel, Belleville, IL with Father Tom Hayes and Father Allen Maes officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
