E. Lorene Stoffel

E. Lorene Stoffel, 94, of O'Fallon, Illinois, born Thursday, January 24, 1918, in Franklin County, IL, passed away quietly on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her home.

Her career opened over the WWII era, working at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. She then worked until her retirement for the U.S. Corp of Engineers. Lorene was a faithful member of the Fairview Heights Church of Christ. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her:

  • Parents: Rothel and Belva nee Uhls Stoffel
  • Brother: Howard Stoffel
  • Sister: Evadine Stoffel

    • Dennis Stoffel of Berkeley, CA

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 17, 2012 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Taylor and Rev. Gene Ishum officiating.  Interment will follow at Masonic and Odd Fellows, Benton, Illinois.

    I will always be grateful to have known Lorene. She was gentle, sweet, fussy and a fine cook. Her devotion to her mother Belva and to her whole family was exemplary. Thank you Lorene for being a part of my life.
