Ernest E. "Ernie" Tyra, 81, of Belleville, Illinois, born Monday, April 21, 1930, in Haleyville, AL, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Ernest worked as a truck driver/railroad conductor and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church Fairview Heights, IL.  

He was preceded in death by his:  

• Parents: Floyd E. and Myrtle E., nee Hulsey Tyra 
• Brother: Floyd Tyra Jr.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 9:00 am - 11:00 am Friday, December 16, 2011 at Christ United Methodist Church, 339 Frank Scott Parkway East, Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial Service:  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 16, 2011 at Christ United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Shane Bishop officiating.
