Helen C. McCann, nee Close, 94, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Belleville, IL, born Thursday, October 19, 1916, in Princeton, NJ, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Mary Culver Home in St. Louis, MO .

Her greatest love was for her family; her husband, 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. McCann was a former 4th grade Teacher. She was an active member of Signal Hill United Methodist Church. She graduated from Washington University and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was a member of the Excelsior Club, Chapter CT of PEO, Illinois State President of PEO, and past President of St. Clair County Medical Association Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by:

Visitation: Friends may call from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Private interment prior to the Memorial Service at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belleville, IL. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm May 16, 2011 at Signal Hill United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating and Rev. Robert Edwards assisting.
