James D. Ganey

James D. Ganey, 72, of Belleville, IL, born Friday, May 20, 1938, in East St. Louis, IL, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mr. Ganey worked as a Programmer/Analyst for Peabody Holding Inc. He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church in Belleville, IL, Tazmanian Devils softball team and life member of Knights of Columbus.

 

He was preceded in death by:

  • Parents: David R. and Alice C. nee Phelan Ganey
  • Son: David C. Ganey
  • Brother: Robert T. Ganey
  • Sister-in-law: Grace Volpert

Surviving are his:

  • Wife: Judith Ganey nee Volpert

Memorials: Memorials may be made in the form of a mass or to Family Hospice of the Belleville Area.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4-8 P.M., Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A funeral procession will leave from Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL at 9:45am, Saturday, August 14, 2010 for a 10:00am mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury in Belleville, IL with Msgr William Hitpas and Father Patrick Okwumuo officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

    Judy and family. Sorry we couldn't make the visitation. It was because our children were in the hospital at the same time that we met you. You lost David then, we lost Chris in 1983. I remember getting together with you to play cards. I now see Jim, David, Chris and my Dad, Cy, all having a good card game. Our prayers are with all of you. Carolyn
