Joanne L. Carter

Joanne L. Carter, nee Meade, 80, of Creve Coeur, MO, formerly of Belleville, IL, born Wednesday, September 24, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Saint Louis, MO.

Ms. Carter worked as a personnel specialist for Scott Air Force Base for 30 years, retiring in 1987.

She was preceded in death by:

  • Parents: Robert L. and Eugenia J. Morris Meade
  • Sister: Barbara Rainwater

Surviving are her:

  • Son: Bo (Ann Marie) Carter of Belleville, IL
  • Daughter: Jozelle S. (Michael) Walsh of Oak Forest, IL

Visitation: Friends may call from 4-7 P.M., Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Friday, January 7, 2011 at Kurrus Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

    I know I was your primary nurse for only about a year, but our friendship made it seem like we had known each other forever. My heart aches and I still cry for you, but I am sure you are resting peacefully where ever you are and, you won't have to worry about pills and injections anymore. I miss you Jo.
