I remember Walter was always a happy guy with a smile on his face and that great laugh. He was a great uncle to me when I was growing up. I have fond memories of him.

I have very fond memories of Mr Slattery. Tim and I along with Karen, Susan and Nancy were friends growing up. He was always a very happy person. I loved that Irish accent. Last time I saw him was last summer. My Dad, myself, my son Ryan and Steve sang My Wild Irish Rose for him. He really liked that. I will always remember his smile and cheerful disposition. I know he is in a much better place now. Rest in Peace Mr Slattery.

My Uncle Walter was the dearly loved and respected brother of my mother Mae. I did not meet him often, but on the few I did, and through countless stories recounted by mum, he was very funny and kind with an enormous zest for life and a huge heart full of love for his family. He will be greatly remembered and sorely missed. RIP dear Walter x
