Robert A. Hearan, 67, of Swansea, Illinois, born Monday, September 30, 1940, in Belleville, Illinois, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Hearan retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL after 47 years of service. Robert began working in the X-ray department as a janitor at the age of 16. After high school, Robert completed radiology studies and became a Radiology Technologist and eventually a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. After several years he was promoted to Director of Radiology & Vascular Lab were he worked for 31 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Society of Radiology Technologists, The American Healthcare Radiology Administrators Association, Loyal Order of the Moose and past president of St. Mary's School Board.

Preceded in death by his Parents - Earnest & Otillia E. nee Rist Hearan.

Survived by his wife, Janet G. nee Cornett Hearan whom he married July 28, 1966 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A funeral procession will leave from Kurrus Funeral Home at 10:40am Friday, August 8, 2008 for an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Belleville, IL with Father Bill McGhee officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL
